In Morning Prayer of the Divine Office for today as provided by Universalis is this beautiful hymn, which each time I pray it brings great consolation.
Alone with none but thee, my God,
I journey on my way.
What need I fear, when thou art near,
O King of night and day?
More safe am I within thy hand,
Than if a host did round me stand.
My destined time is fixed by thee,
And death doth know his hour.
Did warriors strong around me throng,
They could not stay his power;
No walls of stone can man defend
When thou thy messenger dost send.
My life I yield to thy decree,
And bow to thy control
In peaceful calm, for from thine arm
No power can wrest my soul.
Could earthly omens e’er appal
A man that heeds the heavenly call!
The child of God can fear no ill,
His chosen dread no foe;
We leave our fate with thee, and wait
Thy bidding when to go.
‘Tis not from chance our comfort springs,
Thou art our trust, O King of kings.
It is good to see the Faith Movement still bringing young people to Christ. It did the same for me right back in it’s beginnings in the early 1970’s. The fully orthodox synthesis presented is both intellectually satisfying and spiritually nourishing. This synthesis can be found in ‘Catholicism a New Synthesis’ By Fr Edward Holloway STL and other books and pamphlets available from the Faith website or in eBook format Here.
May I be the first to welcome back any Episcopalians who, after their church agreeing to conduct ‘marriage’ services for homosexual couples, would like to realign themselves back into the One True Fold in the fullness of the Faith of Jesus Christ.
This also applies to our other Separated Brethren (especially from the other Anglican communions who will no doubt follow suit).
Many Muslims – maybe even the majority – are peaceable and want the things we all want. A happy family, home… fulfillment. But if you read the Koran, it is hard to see how Islam, with its repeated injunctions to slaughter the Infidel without mercy, can ever possibly be described as a religion of peace.
Having read the qoran this statement is totally true – Our recourse to combat this is the Holy Rosary of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and Our Blessed Lord Himself transebstantially present in the Most Blessed Sacrament.
